Chris,
I appreciate your call but more so your kind words. We both know baseball isn’t all about talent. How you mature and handle the game emotionally will eventually separate players. This is an important age for Matt. As parents we watch the coach’s interaction with players (good times and bad) as much as we watch the product on the field. You were fantastic with Matt and there is definitely a connection between the two of you. For Matt to hear that you’re proud of him is so important to him. He wants to please us, and so much of his frustration at times is that he feels he's letting us down. It's how he's wired. With the wrong parenting approach or coaching style this could be disastrous to him. You figured this out and "coached" Matt great throughout the year and especially the tough times.

Both of our children benefitted from Playball's lessons!Thanks to Ryan's off season work outs at PlayBall, he led his team to the Championship at GompersPark. In his last 3 games he pitched 9 innings giving up only 2 hits. Over 16 games he averaged 2.29 strikeouts per inning. We will see you again this winter.
